An application for 8 purpose-built holiday chalets on a brownfield site high on the cliffs overlooking the town of Stonehaven. This was assessed against commercial and tourism related policies in the Local Development Plan. This was a highly visible countryside location with topographic constraints, so that considerable care had to be taken with design and layout of the individual buildings. The site was already partially landscaped and issues with trees were overcome with additional native planting.
The development was nominated for Aberdeenshire Council’s Architectural & Design Awards 2020. This successful business continues to grow.
